@yelich_ivana Poor @PrabSarkaria can’t use real data to support his decisions so he uses vastly outdated stats on the number of cyclists in Toronto to support his backwards thinking. You are an embarrassment to your job title and to Ontario.
@mohitsharma22@BetterDwelling Lol it’s TRREB. They will always pick and choose ways to present conditions favourably. And will always predict near term price growth.
@JJ_McCullough Politics always rests on relatability and the power of this kind of cultural identification should never be understated in how central it is to the human political experience.
@zerocool@KMoFun @Sue_Innovates @ColinDMello @parentaction4ed One parcel was bought from unwitting sellers for $80m weeks before Ford announced it was selected for the land swap. What incredibly good fortune for that developer who happens to be “friends/not friends” with Ford
Critical point: 70% of these greenbelt lands were formerly public lands sold to farmers - as Agricultural Land, and to be kept Agricultural Land, in perpetuity. Speculators moved in on these farmers and bought their land - cheap. Their golden moment? An unethical Minister and Premier willing to break these legal covenants.
It is remarkable, really. It took quite a few bad actors for this to come together.
@brianlilley Such lucky developers! Gave money to Fordms govt and are his friend. Bought land for $80M. Wow a couple months later environmental protections are removed and it’s chosen to be developed! What are the chances. I guess Ford has lucky friends.
