Fact : Annamayya district Police arrested the pujari Harinath for Vandalising the templem According to Police, Pujari Harinath allegedly placed explosives in the basement of the Anjaneya temple. After failing with this attempt, he damaged the temple with shovels, hammers, chisels and other objects. Harinath had hired five other accused to vandalise the Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple. All arrested.

Reason: Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple’s priest had differences with the priest of Kanugunda Swamy temple (Pujari
Harinath) over sharing of the temple income. Harinath wanted to take Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy temple under his control to get its income but priest Vidyasagar did not agree. Angered over this, Harinath planned to blow up Anjaneya temple with explosives thinking that this would force the priest to vacate the Anjaneya temple. The police clarifies that there is absolutely no communal angle involved in this.
