I feel like I'm being gaslit.
For months I heard how the Steam Machine was going to change gaming, replace consoles, push SteamOS mainstream, and finally give us a true living-room PC.
Then the reviews dropped.
It's over $1,300, struggles in games people actually want to play, gets compared to hardware that's years old, and somehow the defense is always:
"You're not the target audience."
Who is?
Because PC gamers can build better.
Console gamers can buy a PS5 Pro for less.
Steam Deck owners already have the Valve experience.
The performance is underwhelming, the price makes no sense, and somehow the conversation is still dominated by excuses instead of answers.
I wanted a killer product.
What I got was a collector's item pretending to be a gaming revolution.
@Khatspergers Hour long rant last week about the fucking mario movie talking about how it should be made for his liking, but now all of a sudden we're drawing the line of what's for kids and what's not. Got it, Phil.
