Last fall at an Anthropic dinner, was seated next to lovable cto and joked “hey Anthropic folks, when are you gonna put me and this guy out of business?”

Truth be told this is exactly what we’ve been expecting ever since we launched Bolt in Oct ‘24

Not just this Claude leak. After we launched Bolt it was clear to me that this- what we now call vibe coding- would be everywhere. New startups, old incumbents, new incumbents. And that panned out to be dead on:

- existing startups like replit pivoted
- old incumbents entered the game, like wix with base44 and figma with make
- new incumbents entered the game like Google AI studio and now this thingamabob from anthropic

This is a growing pie and @boltdotnew is thrilled to be a part of it!

Those chasing fast growing / high churn consumer revenue have leveled out at the lowering ceiling… and perhaps similar to ‘21 era, over-leveraged fundraises & valuations may turn into liabilities in new realities
