Attended a DYW Event (Developing the Young Workforce) involving Pupils from Aberdeenshire to promote the Values of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service should they choose this as a Career Path + discussed the valuable contribution On Call Firefighters give to their Local Communities.
We had a great day today engaging with members of the Public at Ballater Victoria Week, Vehicle Parade. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short again due to “Fire Call” but thankfully we made it back before the end. Heather and Harris again proved popular with all ages.
Last Saturday we welcomed members of the #thefirebrigadesociety to the Station to Photograph our Dennis Appliance. Will this be the last time they photograph this Appliance? That’s what they said last year! Good to meet up with these Gents, who have a great all round knowledge.
Out at the Annual Ballater Duck Festival with our special guests “Heather and Harris”. They proved to be a big hit, but due to the nature of our job, a call out resulted in their visit being cut short.
We’ll try and invite them back some other time.
Out tonight assisting Balmoral Castle & Estate Rangers on Camper Patrols in the Loch Muick Area. 4 groups spoken to and advised of their actions, which they swiftly dealt with. At this time of “High Fire Risk” please adhere to to the signs, “No Camp Fires & no BBQ’s allowed”.
As part of our Operational Strategy and ongoing response to the impact of climate change, we are making significant investment in our wildfire capabilities. Looking forward to these arriving!
Out today supporting Balmoral Fire Crew at the Run Balmoral Event. Big thanks to the Crew from @R60Gordonstoun for coming down to help out. Great engagement with HFSV generated and potential new recruits inquiring about becoming an “On Call Firefighter” @toshie48@SFRSYourSafety
Our Polaris ATV was requested 📟 to assist with an ongoing Wildfire down in Milngavie this afternoon. Considerable distance to go, but always happy to help. Stay safe guys 👍
Crews called out to a significant Fire on the Hill above the popular Burn o Vat area. Assisted by Personnel from Aboyne and Strathdon, and with a massive support from Nature Scotland, Dinnet, Tillypronie and Glentanner Estates. Thanks everyone for your help much appreciated.
👏
Great Afternoon at Aboyne Academy Careers Event. Positive engagement with both Pupils and Teachers with the VR Goggles proving to be a massive hit once again.
Never be afraid to speak up, and tell them to slow down or stop!!!
Out on the Hill today carrying out our Annual 1 Day Refresher Course for our Polaris, and just had to demonstrate a Failed Hill Ascent. Great day and a high standard of driving by the candidates. #SFRS
A career with @fire_scot could cover anything from administration, finance or ICT, to showing visitors around a museum or speaking to young people in the community. Whatever skills you bring, you could find a future with the SFRS.

@FireWhitburn@lewis_snedden@fire_scot@fire_livingston@BroxburnFire@Dunblane Thanks for the feedback and like all Crews that attended, we were only doing our Job. It really did show what a valuable asset the 6 seater Polaris was and we were only to happy to transport personnel and equipment to and from the Incident Ground preventing the long walk in.
