@snarkymsu Finally, an argument that addresses the actual root causeβ¨
You're totally right it's a reward design issue, not a class balance issue.
Adjusting incentives for small high CP teams is far better for the game's economy than blindly nerfing supports.
Calling for a Bishop nerf because of "Tax Teams" isn't about game balanceβit's just DPS players mad about losing a slice of the loot. @MaplestoryU@nexpacetime 𧡠(1/3)
.
Here is why this drama is pure hypocrisy π
Sadly, yes.
Some players are scapegoating Bishop over the Tax Team drama, claiming support utility is too effective
But is nerfing Bishop really the solution?
We literally sacrificed solo DPM and struggle with solo content just to support the party.
Punishing a dedicated support class for boss loot design isn't game balance.
Even if the buff currently applies at full value, that is a tooltip/bug fix for @MaplestoryU to address not a justification to nerf Bishop as a class
Bishops have endured rock bottom solo DPM for years without crying for buffs or class changes π₯²
If matching other servers is your standard, why aren't you asking to remove Shade's Soul Split to match other versions, or nerfing Shade's insane burst down to support levels?
Selective targeting like this isn't about balance it's just hypocritical

Setting hard CP entry restrictions for bosses isn't a sustainable solution, as it could severely harm our community ecosystem
Today, our community thrives because players of all levels heavy investors, mid-tier, and F2P interact, trade, and form parties together every day. As long as level requirements are met, everyone has a chance to participate.
Gating content behind strict CP walls would isolate players and weaken sub communities. Even for heavy investors, gaming is far less rewarding without friends and a vibrant community to share it with. Without a lively player base, the value and joy of investing in the game are greatly diminished.
Even heavily funded players can't clear endgame content alone they still need a team. How that team is structured and who they choose to bring is entirely up to them.
I strongly disagree with nerfing any class over party choices.
Just wait for the new boss
Classes like NW, NL, Ark, and Merc take high effort to master, and they deserve their power. As a Bishop, I adapt to the meta rather than demand nerfs for others.
Team composition is a strategic choice. Demanding to nerf Bishop just because a proper party setup affects your loot split goes against core game design. (3/3)
Look at the synergy other classes bring:
β’ Mercedes: IED + 30% Dmg debuff with massive DPS.
β’ Ark: Attack, IED, & Boss Dmg buffs while out-damaging Bishop.
β’ Shade: Top-tier burst & CC (Pairing Shade + Merc actually yields higher burst than with a Bishop).
Yet no one demands nerfs for them because their utility benefits the team. (2/3)
@UniverseGuild@MaplestoryU@nexpacetime That's mean Low-CP Bishops with 10k-20k INT are giving a mere not much FD before party dilution
With these mechanics in mind, would nerfing Bishop really be the right solution?
@UniverseGuild@MaplestoryU@nexpacetime It requires around 80k+ INT just to cap the +40% Final Damage and Final Damage buff is ALREADY reduced based on the number of party members
Having endured rock-bottom damage for so long just to support the team, I have to ask Is this really fair to us?
We sacrificed DPM for utility. Nerfing Bishop or gutting our skills is NOT the solution to loot distribution problems.
Don't punish support classes for system design flaws
