Today, we're celebrating 50,000 miles of flight.
This is not a staged photo or a press release.
This is the equivalent of 2X around the globe of real-world flight experience, bringing us closer to changing how we live and travel.
Here's to the next 50,000 and beyond!
Hawthorne Airport built the future once. It's about to do it again.
Our acquisition announced yesterday firmly plants the Archer flag in the heart of L.A., with plans for it to serve as our operational hub for our LA air taxi network. It is strategically located less than three miles from LAX, and is the closest airport to some of the city’s biggest attractions — SoFi Stadium, The Forum, Intuit Dome, and Downtown L.A. The airport will also act as a test bed for the AI-powered aviation technologies we’re developing and plan to deploy with our airline and technology partners.
The historic Hawthorne Airport was built in the 1920s to attract Jack Northrup to build his company here. That led to Hawthorne Airport becoming a vital military asset used by the U.S. Army during WWII for manufacturing and modifying aircraft like the P-61 Black Widow.
From New York to Japan to Korea... NEXT STOP: DUBAI.
Flying is what we do best, and we're thrilled to make history as part of the first-ever eVTOL flying display at the @DubaiAirshow.
See you in the sky, Nov 17-21.
We've begun power-on testing of the first of several FAA-conforming aircraft to be built for Type Inspection Authorization (TIA).
This marks one of the most important milestones in Joby’s history and allows us to begin conducting thousands of hardware and software integration tests in preparation for “for credit” flight testing with FAA pilots on board.
