Today, I have received a cheque of UGX 53.5 million from @WatotoChurch in support of the proposed Mobile Water Clinic, an initiative aimed at bringing healthcare closer to communities across the islands.

The Ssese Islands comprise 83 islands, while the Buvuma Islands comprise 54. Many communities continue to face challenges accessing healthcare due to the high cost and limited availability of water transport.

Following His Majesty the Kabaka’s instruction, I visited the islands to engage with communities and understand their challenges firsthand. It was during these engagements that His Majesty encouraged us to explore a mobile water clinic that can move from island to island, bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people.

Health is a prerequisite for social and economic transformation. We have so far raised approximately US$60,000 towards this initiative, and I sincerely thank Watoto Church for this generous contribution, as well as for the excellent organisation of the celebrations marking His Majesty the Kabaka’s 33rd Coronation Anniversary.

Together, we can make healthcare more accessible to our island communities. 🙏🏾
