@atensnut Most likely impractical and not possible to think you can make 16 people (includes alternates) to be without phones and contact with outside world for 6 to 7 weeks . It’s why you haven’t seen sequesters jury since OJ.
@MrsGilleyToYou Defense atty asked to remove the holdout. No seasoned or rookie defense lawyer would do so unless sure the juror was against the result he was seeking. Logically he knows and his position tells you what the other 11 jurors have decided.
@itskikidanger He knows and it be malpractice to ask to remove a juror holding out unless he knew. He said they sent a note no one told him. A good reporter would ask what did note say.
False - you’re repeating the defense attorneys argument not the facts. A juror finding the state proved her sane is allowed - disagreeing with majority is not ignoring the law it’s giving different weight to the evidence and applying the law. You realize voting the state met their burden is allowed?
@MattWallace888 The other 11 think she should go to state run mental facility where she will be housed for years - I get it you post for clicks but people actually follow and repeat you - be accurate
It’s clear Lindsay Clancy won’t be convicted by this jury. The best the DA can hope for is the holdout remains on jury and doesn’t break. The 11 have voted the prosecution has not proven that Clancy was legally sane. We know this because def attorney wants holdout removed and no def attorney would do this unless he knew the hold out was against his client.
@GuntherEagleman False - there is no reason to believe the holdout is refusing to follow the law it could be a different view of the weight of the evidence or it could be the other 11 refuse to follow the law
@nicksortor I disagree whatever side holdout is it’s a huge leap to say he/she not following the law. Every juror could be following the law and reach two different conclusions
@PaulGoldEagle Yet no news agency left or right reports this - no one says they are aware of this - no reports of missing judges or legislators - almost like it never happened
Clancy Hanging? The jury in the Clancy trial told the judge a second time in two days that it could not reach a verdict. The deadlock appears to be on sanity, not degree of murder. The jury’s note to the judge said that “after much deliberation we are still unable to come to a unanimous decision.”
The Judge told the jury to continue deliberating. He read them an instruction, which told the jury to try and find a way through its impasse, work together, respect each other, etc. In my experience, at this point, a jury will not get to a verdict. The judge is doing his job, and before he calls a mistrial, throws 6 weeks of trial away, and subjects his courthouse to another S-show trial, he is trying to persuade a verdict. There's no compromised verdict in this case, so I don't see the jurors reaching a verdict. Pay attention to the number of jurors who voted for insanity. Because the prosecution has unlimited resources, a retrial favors them. I also can't imagine a plea deal unless Clancy accepts a voluntary manslaughter conviction if prosecutors offer that deal. It
@rodger Alabama plays in tough conference and was required to play in conference championship against a team it beat - nd hasn’t played a top ten team in 10 games - please
@BarstoolChief So when we point out soft schedule and refusal to join conference because u don’t want to share revenue and are greedy Fs - that’s our lack of character not the doomers? Get it now
