@diceknobs@ERCboxoffice It's far more likely there have just been too many docs on SNL lately. It'll be distributed differently than the other docs, be licensed to streamers, play on airplanes, and on broadcasters in other countries. That's why they put it in theatres.
@jasan2917@uormatthews@TheRochaSays Probably contractual with the filmmaker and also they wanted a doc with an elevated value over the made-for-TV specials. They're under different licensing deals and they can sell internationally to other places.
