Tanzanian billionaire Sheikh Salim Bakhressa talking about the many times he tried and failed before finally succeeding
Many budding businessmen and women give up too early
Hang in there
Because we are ethic/religious Minority, because we are marginalised, because we are poor, because we are uneducated, because our regions are marginalised, because our regions have poor infrastructure...and because we are MUSLIMS...we are with H.E WILLIAM RUTO 100%.
It was obvious from day one that the UDA candidate will be soundly beaten by Wamunyoro's candidate in the Ol Kalou by election. Only the margin was being debated in low tone. The conventional wisdom seemed to suggest that UDA's candidate will garner between 25 to 35% of the vote. In otherwords, he will mount a respectable fight and validate the propaganda peddled by political minnows from Kiambu that President Ruto still retains significant support in Mt. Kenya region. Now that the dust has settled, the postmortem by political pathologists give a dire prognosis of the dismal performance of UDA. 13% of the vote was an awful return for the billions spent and the false promises so recklessly made to the voters. Of course, the divorce between President Ruto and the Kikuyu community provided the background melody in UDA's calamitous showing in Ol Kalou. A number of other factors played significant role in the horror show too. First, gooism and violence played a significant role in the death and demise of UDA in Ol Kalou. Kenya's loathe violence unleashed on them and their homes by politicians enjoying state patronage. Historic experience taught them that violence begets violence and leads to death and destruction. Goonism which is flourishing as a powerful and well resourced department in the Minstry of Internal Security Office of the President has lately scared Kenyans to death. Ol Kalou voters strong repudiated the thesis that voters can be forced by goons and other violent characters to vote for a preferred candidate. Going foward, Politicians must know that gooism and violence will cost them votes. Second, "development" on wheelbarrows, wooden boats, gas cylinders and electric poles on the roadside annoyed Ol Kalou votes. UDA flashed the discredited "development card" as if it was doing a favour to the Ol Kalou voter. Surely aren't these voters Kenyans entitled to development? The fake promises of unrealistic "development" turned many voters in Ol Kalou against UDA. Voters rightly saw the lies and false promises made just to get their votes. Going foward, Politicians must know that voters aren't stupid and they see a lie from distant. Ole Kalou voters told our politicians "Just be truthful, you fucking idiots!" Third, the leadership of UDA was lightweight and not credible. The face of UDA's campaign in Ol Kalou was Hon. Moses Kuria. Moses is a good man with many qualities but I don't think he is a good trusted salesman. A salesman speaks with measured tone/seriousness. Moses speaks too fast and playfully for a rural audience like Ol Kalou. Moses is effective/impressive in Live tv shows like Jeff's @KoinangeJeff on @citizentvkenya but he didnt come out credible in rallies in rural Ol Kalou. More importantly, as a Kiambu gentry what could he really tell a third generation Mau Mau offspring who grew up hearing the heroics and eventual death of JM Kariuki in the hands of Kiambu mafia led by Jomo? Lastly, UDA arrogantly refuses to come to terms with the political reality shaping the 2027 elections. In Kenya, we vote along tribal lines. Nothing inherently wrong with that. The Kikuyu community has made up its mind as have the Kamba, Somali, Luo etc. Our Kikuyu brothers right from H.E Rigathi Gachagua, H.E UHURU down to the pickpockets and pimps in River Road have said loud and clear that their sole agenda in 2027 to send H.E WILLIAM RUTO to Sugoi. That is a right those who support Ruto's reelection like MYSELF must respect and strategize to defeat...but we must respect their choice nonetheless. Ol Kalou voters cried that their choice be respected...

The test run of the Isiolo Export Abattoir has been a resounding success. The Small Stock Processing Line (Sheep and Goats) and the Large Stock Processing Line (Cattle and Camels), including the slaughter and processing facilities, have been successfully commissioned and are now fully operational ahead of the official launch by His Excellency President @WilliamsRuto.
In preparation for this landmark occasion, the County Government, in collaboration with the National Government, is undertaking final infrastructure improvements, including the construction and upgrading of road links within and around the abattoir complex, expansion and improvement of the parking area, completion and upgrading of the main entrance gate and other auxiliary civil works to support smooth operations. In addition, the planned extension of the Isiolo International Airport runway will further strengthen the region’s logistics and export capacity.
The successful commissioning confirms the facility’s operational readiness and demonstrates the County Government’s commitment to delivering a world-class livestock processing plant that will enhance value addition, create jobs, and unlock international markets for livestock farmers across Isiolo and the wider region.
Isiolo is ready. The future of livestock exports begins here.

The Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill 2026 has been signed into law this morning.
Kenya now has a Sovereign Wealth Fund which constitutes 3 funds:
· The Stabilisation Fund which is designed to provide the national government with resources for management of shocks
· The Strategic Infrastructure Investment Fund which is designed to provide funding for strategic infrastructure investment priorities that are aligned to the national development plan
· The Future Generations Fund which is designed to to ensure that the benefits of the use of resources are shared equitably between present and future generations
Two things worth pointing out:
· Per the Act, 30.0% of the total mineral & petroleum revenues will be ringfenced for the Future Generations Fund
· The Act prohibits investment of the Funds in speculative derivatives, unlisted or real estate located in Kenya, private equity, art or commodities or securities issued by a Kenyan issuer
