Hello all. A quick update from me.
My sex screen assay is progressing well.
I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability.
I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising.
I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum.
I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science…
The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling.
If anyone wants to help me hit my final budget target, my crowdfunder is here.
UNISON demand men get the right to view their female colleagues undress in workplace changing rooms whenever those men want. Because for UNISON, women just aren't sexualised, harassed or abused enough.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s 2026 and there are MPs who think human beings can’t detect the difference between male and female members of our species with almost-perfect accuracy 🫠
Really great to hear that lots of employers are FINALLY complying with the law and telling men to stay out of women’s spaces. Thanks for the heads up, Unison!
Yes, period huts are back. Because girls just aren’t embarrassed and awkward enough about menstruation.
But what happens when the trans-identified boy feels excluded from the period hut? What if he feels less of a girl? Perhaps it would be easier just to tell girls to stay home.
Women, leave Unison and join the @DarlingtonUnion!
As well as the sheer ignorance of this statement - complete misinterpretation of the law/guidance/code relating to workplaces (see @akuareindorf) - why would you still give your hard-earned £ to a union that centres a few men..?
@unisonldnlgbt You have spectacularly failed to understand the law & the guidance surrounding. As yet another former Unison member & shop steward I'm appalled at this stance. You have betrayed working class women, lesbians & gay men. Get in the bin.
@unisonldnlgbt As a former Unison shop steward I am appalled at you lack of care for your gay and female members. Your complete misunderstanding of both equalities law and workplace regulations pales in comparison to your utter disregard of the majority of Unison members. You are a disgrace.
Unison leader Andrea Egan appears to be in a muddle.
She seems to have misunderstood who the EHRC’s draft guidance on single-sex spaces is aimed at. It is primarily directed at service providers and organisations covered by the Equality Act - not workplace toilet provision.
She also appears unaware that employers already have legal responsibilities to provide suitable toilet and washing facilities under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
That aside, her video doesn’t mention women once.
From a union leader whose membership is predominantly female, that is extraordinary.
Women are the group most directly affected by policies on single-sex spaces, privacy and dignity. Yet their interests barely seem to feature in the discussion at all.
This from an actual member of Unison and probably speaking for the majority. The cabal of identity ideologists run things so democracy no longer counts
No, you aren’t “unfortunately joined to the intersex movement”.
You have systematically - and without any consideration for people with possibly traumatic medical conditions - parasitised those individuals for your own purposes.
You have weaponised them in the most shocking and ugly fashion.
You have made these individuals the lynchpin upon which your entire ideology rests, and you care not one jot beyond that which you can exploit and demean them.
You wield DSDs carelessly but deliberately.
None of you care about DSDs. You care only about using people to mangle biology.
Fuck off.
Yes. One was raped in a male hospital ward because staff said gender is more important than sex.
If the GC movement had been listened to, she would have been placed away from men.
You won’t see this post. You blocked me because I point out things like this to people like you…
@ForWomenScot@owenjonesjourno@EHRC Incredible that Owen's argument contains no hint of recognition that men should take responsibility for their sexual & other violence. His starting point is that male violence is a given, like they're wild animals. He simply thinks it better that women face them than trans-ID men
