The Town of Banff is aware of an unplanned power outage affecting large areas in town. FortisAlberta has sent a crew to address the issue. A power line has been reported down along the Bow River Trail on the south side. This outage is not related to planned work to relocate an Osprey nest west of town. The wind storm that took out power to folks in @Banff_Town last night resulted in damage to six poles. Our local crew with additional support from other locations and contractors has been making good progress on the repairs and pole replacements throughout the day. Power will be gradually restored to customers throughout the evening as each section is safely completed. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
