@Sweetie44444@Alan_Morrison67@jucojames We employ 1051 people in total going from last year's results, with 850 odd on the non-football side. Even if they were all on minimum wage that'd be ยฃ22m a year
@_LauraBrannan As someone who was in that crowd and ended up with what felt like a full beer down my back, I agree! leave it to the boxparks down south
@MediamadnessF @Kieran_Celtic My biggest worry is our first choice XI is the same as it was a year ago(-Jota). We've made no progress despite selling our best player and getting another season of CL money. We're stronger than we were a month ago, but we're 1 or 2 tackles from being back there again, no depth
@Kieran_Celtic We've had 3 transfer windows and we're weaker than we were before the world cup, and that's with 2 years of CL money. The way we're being run is ridiculous at the moment, we have as much in the bank as feyenoord turnover in a year but can't compete with them on the field!
@TheMarkGordon Lack of profile, as soon as you go for summer football you're effectively signing up to be a footballing backwater at the moment. Maybe we'd break the mould, but I think we could get the same effect by having a late Jul-May calendar and having a 6 week break rather than 3
@TheMarkGordon The rankings are more to show their standing in the game than where they could be. On paper a league like Sweden's should be ahead(more ppl, more TV money), but Aberdeen should've beat their champs in the qualis over 2 legs, and they went on to lose all 6 of their group games
@TheMarkGordon The world football calendar doesn't support it. If it moved to summer, the level of player and coach we'd attract would drop further. We are already trying hard enough to stay relevant. These are the coeff ranking of the Summer leagues, not a ringing endorsement!
@CammieMcManus97@derekwatson89 The world football calendar doesn't support summer football. They can play summer football because there are little to no expectations in Europe. We are currently seen as a step above all the leagues on that list(except perhaps Norway) and would lose that moving to summer imo
@scotlandscoeff1 How much more likely do you think it is that a 4th Scottish team makes the groups? Given that:
a) 3rd/4th gets two bites at the cherry by starting at EL Q3
b) 8 additional places are up for grabs across EL and ECL groups with no additional teams entering quali at that level
@bmag80@90MinuteCynic Increase in prize money and extra gate receipts available would bring income up to a level where we *could* compete with teams in the top leagues(outside England) that don't make Europe. Whether we do anything with it though is another question...
