Blaming Ni-Ki for what happened is not only unfair, but also irresponsible. He never mentioned this fan directly or indirectly. His message was clearly a general one, addressing behaviors that are common throughout the tour and speaking about several things he believed could be be improved, not targeting one specific person.

When someone reaches such a devastating point, it is rarely the result of a single event or a single comment. Situations like these are often far more complex than people on the internet want to admit, and none of us can know exactly what that person was experiencing or how they interpreted the events around them.

Turning this into a narrative that places the blame on one individual helps no one. It doesn’t honor the person who passed away, and it doesn’t address the real issue: the culture of relentless harassment, dehumanization, and online hostility that has become so normalized.

Every time a member tries to speak honestly about improving things, some people choose to twist their words into another excuse to spread hate. If your first instinct after a tragedy is to weaponize it against someone you already wanted to attack, then you’re not seeking justice, you’re feeding the same cycle of hostility that brought us here in the first place.

Very lastly but very important:

DO NOT use this tragedy to seek attention, sympathy, engagement, or any kind of personal gain. Do not exploit someone else’s suffering to make yourself visible. There is nothing respectful or compassionate about turning another person’s pain into an opportunity.
This isn’t a trend. This isn’t fandom discourse. This isn’t content.

I’ve seen this happen before. I’ve seen people fake situations like this to gain attention, to make their posts go viral, or to try to get a message to the members. Some even pretended to be a their own parent or friend, using their account to fabricate emotional stories in the hope of getting noticed.

I condemned that behavior then, and I condemn it now.

Somewhere out there are people who have just lost someone who meant everything to them. Their family and their loved ones are living through unimaginable grief. Do you honestly think they care about fandoms, online validation, or whether someone gets noticed by an artist? They have lost a real person. Their pain is REAL.

Respect that. Don’t play with people’s emotions, and don’t turn someone else’s tragedy into your moment.
