Three days after his funeral, my husband asked me for a divorce.

He packed his bags and left that evening.

Two weeks later, my lawyer called.

Lawyer: "Your father left specific instructions concerning your inheritance."

Me: "What instructions?"

Lawyer: "He said you must not share the money with your husband."

I laughed bitterly.

Me: "My husband has already left me."

The lawyer went silent.
