New paper alert! Have the courage to look them in the face! ...Their faces can tell us a lot! Filippo and Dayanna made a massive effort and studied the faces of cotton-top tamarins with deep learning—a striking step for our visual communication studies! https://t.co/glxhLGUiJj
After patiently waiting, our bird feeder has proven to be popular! We’ve had a good diversity of visits so far, including:

Spring in Gibraltar this year, mid Jan to mid April and I have already surpassed the number of Blackcaps caught in the whole of last spring. Get ready for a good Blackcap spring in the UK 👍 #gonhs#birdringing#straitofgibraltarbirdobservatory
Pet owners accidentally poisoning garden birds! Our latest research finds pet flea treatments (fipronil and imidacloprid) in 100% of blue tit and great tit nests, with nestling mortality higher in the more contaminated nest. @SongBirdSBS@SussexUni@CannelleTassin
Thank you to @Uni_Gib for giving me the opportunity to feature as part of their public lecture series.

Back in the field after some time, and I was reminded how high tensions can be during mating season.
This adult male was trapped at the top of a tree, with 4-5 males waiting for him to come down…. Luckily, he narrowly escaped!

Attended a very interesting webinar last week by @IUCN on "Conservation behaviour change: how to change human behaviour to help people and wildlife"
Very often, we forget that conservation involves people as much as it involves animals and plants.
I have also been fortunate enough to enroll in the "Making moves" course by Brooke tully https://t.co/8LPamYbZfk which has really emphasised the steps needed to design and implement a behaviour change journey (theoretically and practically).
Massive congratulations to the two first graduates of the @Uni_Gib MSc Environmental Science programme.
It was a pleasure to supervise both, and wishing you all the best in your future 🦊🐵
Stay curious! 🌱
