Turkish Intelligence Plot to Undermine the January 29 Agreement and Incite Discord Between Arabs and Kurds

Turkish intelligence (MIT) is working to sabotage the integration process between the Kurdish forces and the Damascus government, seeking to push the Kurdish side into being the one to derail the January 29 agreement, signed under international sponsorship and oversight, with the aim of holding it responsible for the agreement’s collapse.

As part of this plot, Turkish intelligence (MIT) is paying financial sums to Arab tribes linked to ISIS to organize protests next Friday across Syrian cities, not just in the city of Hasakah.

These moves come amid an impending regional struggle for influence in the Middle East, as Turkey seeks to drag Syria into a new war. One of the most dangerous scenarios is inciting a confrontation between Arabs and Kurds in the region and turning political disagreements into a conflict between the components of the Syrian people.

Meanwhile, thousands of accounts linked to Turkish intelligence (MIT) are active on social media platforms, including Kurdish and Arab accounts, spreading incitement, discord, and hate speech, with the aim of fueling public anger and pushing Arabs and Kurds into confrontation.

The objective of these moves is to undermine understanding between Arabs and Kurds, derail the agreement, and return Syria to a cycle of war and division. Therefore, awareness of the danger of this phase and avoiding being drawn into incitement are everyone’s responsibility.
