Ran in wind and rain and somehow did my fastest 10K for a year. Quite refreshing. One hello. Four abandoned shoes. One dumped mattress. #Running#UKRunChat
Windy and humid conditions. I wasn’t in the mood, but ran 6.5K anyway. Saw two pretty cats. A squirrel crossed a busy road and only just made it. Also passed a group of starlings, although it didn’t quite qualify as a murmuration. #Running#UKRunChat
Monday is bin day, so my 7.5K involved lorry dodging and careful navigation. Not too hot, thankfully, with rain finally due later. No hellos. Arriving back home I found my cat being menaced by the local bully – a total pest. #Running#UKRunChat
Another very warm morning. Felt weary from a week of hot, sleepless nights, but managed 6.5K on muscle memory and ended up quite enjoying it. The strong wind was both refreshing and an obstacle. No cats or exotic birds, and no hellos either. #Running#UKRunChat
Ran a slow 8K. It was way too hot for my liking. A distinct lack of wildlife today, but there were big clouds of flies along the river. Managed to get a few nettle stings. #Running#UKRunChat
Left early to beat the heat, but it was already very warm for my 6.5K. Took the shadiest route, which unfortunately meant climbing the steepest hill. One cat. Three people said hello. Saw two Canada geese flying over. There was a heron standing in the pond. #Running#UKRoadChat
The first time back after a half marathon can feel difficult, but I ran 6.5K in rain and wind and found it surprisingly enjoyable. No cats and no hellos. A strong smell of wacky baccy by the shops. Saw a huge heron soaring over the brook. #Running#UKRunChat
Ran a half marathon locally. A sunny but cool start. Saw a heron, two egrets and a kingfisher from the river path. Also three black cats and a girl on rollerskates practising fancy moves. By 7K I felt awful and wanted to stop but pushed on and things improved. #Running#UKRunChat
My back problem was easing so I decided to risk a run. Hoping I won’t regret that later. Managed 7.5K at a faster rate than recently and felt good about it. One hello. One black cat nearly getting run over by a minibus. #Running#UKRunChat
I wanted to try a much longer run but had to stop at 11K, owing to back problems that started last week. Four people said hello. Highlights: seeing an egret, a heron and a deer – although not together. #Running#UKRunChat
There were alternating blasts of sunlight and cold wind on my 6K. Saw two abandoned shopping trolleys and two black cats. I had tired legs but overall the run went better than the last couple did. #Running#UKRunChat
