DARKENED LIGHT.

Increasingly, over the last 4 decades in Nigeria, the church has gained a lot of affluence, but at the expense of the Lord's glory. For He, the Lord, has lost a lot of grounds, progressively, over the same period.

Jesus had more honour on our streets 30 years ago, for instance, than He does today. That time, it meant something to be called a Christian, but what does it mean today? Generally speaking, those days, you could beat your chest quite confidently and say, "If the guy is a Christian, forget it, he will not do XYZ, because, those Christians are not like that."

Today, a Christian in any office could be heard proudly saying things like, "you guys should not leave me out o, my own Christianity is not like that..." He says so, just in case his colleagues may be tempted to keep him out of a fraudulent deal at work – thinking that he'd have no part in fraud, being a self-professed Christian who sings songs like "I live a life of favour, I know who I am..."

Today, many single Christians boast about their sexcapades online. The married ones joke about having sidechicks as if fornication & adultery have been de-listed from the sin category. Many Christian ladies go into marriage, marriage to Christian men, fully expecting that their husbands will cheat on them. It is not just that Christians sin, which is bad, it is that many now sin with glee. Godly sorrow has been replaced by plagiarised and made-in-Auchi screams.

More and more, being called a Christian means less and less. 😢 😭
