Last night was our Easter Eggstravaganza . The committee delivered an Easter bag to each lady and tried to speak to all of them (105) individually. The bag contained a kit to make something at our meeting, chocolate, sunflower seeds for a summer long challenge, and a poem
We also had an easter themed quiz which was great fun. This time last year we wondered what would become of our thriving WI. 12 months on we are stronger and looking forward to the future . @WILifemagazine @WomensInstitute
We then watched 2 presentations - The ladies have been working on entries for an Easter bonnet contest and a spring flower contest . We used the polling on Zoom to choose our winners. There was a tie for the winner of the flowers
It's #internationalhappinessday we have had lots to be happy about in the past and we are very much looking forward to being together again, that will be the happiest day ever :)
Apparently it is random Acts of Kindness Day today.. appears to be another American thing we are slowly adopting. But its a nice idea, we all know how nice it is when someone is kind to you and we don't need to just do it on one day, but its worth thinking about today
We were delighted to welcome 30 ladies from other WI around Hampshire to our meeting last night , it was a record attendance for one of our zoom meetings with 82 turning out on a cold January night.. Well not really out but you know what I mean
Very interesting talk last night entitled Sex, Secrets, Scandal and Salacious Gossip of the Royal Court, 1660 to 1830 by Sarah Slater. It was a little saucy and most informative . Harris's catalogue of Covent Garden ladies was a real eye opener. Google it. @WILifemagazine
At our monthly meeting on Zoom we were lucky to have
@PipBFlowers join us & talk through how an RHS Chelsea garden is built. It was a fabulous & very much enjoyed by all. We invited members of Hampshire WI to join us using tickets on Eventbrite.

Today , despite the weather we had 12 tea parties in and around Barton where our members gathered in groups to celebrate together , at 3pm we had a group zoom for a few minutes so we could all see what everyone was up to. A few pictures below. @WILifemagazine @WomensInstitute
Today we are having our virtual Tea party lots of gardens each hosting up to 6 ladies from 2 - 4 with a zoom get together at 3. Weather gods are not doing us any favours but all the ladies are happy to go ahead gazebos are hastily being erected Rain will not stop the WI....
Looking forward to our virtual garden parties on Saturday, we have 12 gardens Hosting 4 - 5 ladies around our village and we will be zooming in together at 3 for a chat. Not quite the same as last years mass event shown in the pictures below, but hopefully it will be lovely.
Some of the fabulous third birthday cakes made by our ladies, which we enjoyed after our zoom talk from @HowardMiddlebun We think at least one of them should apply for GBBO @WILifemagazine @WomensInstitute
@HowardMiddlebun @WomensInstitute @WILifemagazine The ladies were so pleased to have had the chance to speak to you, my fault you look scary was a last minute picture as I was so engrossed, I forgot to take one when you were smiling :) which was most of the time
Fabulous zoom talk this evening from @HowardMiddlebun about GBBO thoroughly enjoyed by all @WomensInstitute @WILifemagazine finished off with us singing ourselves happy birthday and blowing out candles
