Today I realized an amazing thing. Sometime at the beginning of this millennium, I said to myself that I regret that people today know practically nothing about our history. Pop culture is full of Asian martial arts, when a sword appears in a movie, it's a katana, and when Hollywood happens to try something from the Middle Ages, it's utter criminal abomination.

And I decided to try to change that. To show that European history and medieval culture looked completely different from the muddy horror of Hollywood movies. That we have our own martial arts in Europe. That most of today's ideas about the Middle Ages are clichés and myths. That I would bring Czech history and culture back into the global consciousness, from which it had disappeared thanks to 40 years of the Iron Curtain. That I would make a game that would show as accurately as possible how it really was. Everybody at the time told me, that its not gonna work. Nobody would give us money to make it happen. It was a huge struggle.

But today, more than 15 years later, I realize that I can say: ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED. I feel that not only did we succeed, but we succeeded so much that it exceeded all my expectations and hopes. People from all over the world visit the places where KCD takes place because of the game by thousands. Millions of people know who Jan Žižka or king Sigismund was. The game has sparked a huge wave of pride in our small nation. Teachers thank me for getting their students interested in history again. And more and more good games with medieval themes are appearing. I consider it almost a miracle. And I am very grateful for it!

@Ali655400551790 @DanielVavra The first one is the best game ever made, and I'm expecting this one to be even better, so yes. Genuinely good writing, great world - no two places are the same and even the woods at the edge of the map are super cool to explore. Hundreds of Easter eggs. 1100+ hours and counting.

@msonenote How is this helpful?? Either don't bother us with it or give us an option to dismiss it. I never should have bought the new Surface Laptop Studio because I lost OneNote 2016 - last version that was user-friendly. You really don't want people to give you money, do you?

When HC was introduced to KCD1, most of us had already finished the game, so it was a surprising and welcome way to give people a reason to play it again with new challenges. Now many of us consider these challenges to be the norm and won't play without.

@Staropramen What happened?? I used to love being able to buy bottled Czech-brewed Staropramen in the UK, but this new UK-brewed version in 0.66 L bottles is utter bilge. Completely undrinkable with no resemblance to the original. Too bitter with a really sharp aftertaste.

@Microsoft Why do I even bother spending money on a new Windows laptop when every single Windows update annoys me close to breaking point. Stop switching my settings back to defaults, especially since the defaults s*ck. And stop forcing Copilot into Word - privacy nightmare!!!

@Howzhauzan @cordekirk @DanielVavra Do you know perfect blocks and ripostes? If not, go to Bernard and learn them before you do anything else. This is possible to do the morning of the tourney if you're fast. When fighting, wait and when attacked, press block. Then you can stab or do a quick combo. Wait and repeat.

Since @Microsoft is being useless again (Win update re-introduced the persistent "group by Date" bug to all Download folder subfolders), here's an actual solution (3rd party, obviously): https://t.co/8tGyLHIm0x 1 min to do what Microsoft customer support couldn't manage in 2h.

@Windows Why does my Download folder (and all its hundreds of subfolders) keep switching to "group by Date" all the time? There is no way to permanently switch them to "group by None". The Download folder is now completely unusable.

@KingdomComeRPG I know the official min system requirements haven't been announced yet, but it would really help with my Christmas shopping if I knew what to expect. If I can run KCD1 on medium settings and get stable 25 FPS (with occasional drops during battles), can I run KCD2?
