ANOTHER EARLY MORNING WORKOUT.

Chicago White Sox 2026 10th-round draft pick Matt Bucciero is home for a few days before heading back to Arizona on Sunday.

The former Fairfield University standout and offensive record holder in nearly every major category had some time at home. What did he do with it?

He came in to hit.

With Coach Vigilio at the Batter’s Eye!

Professional players work differently. They work often, with purpose, and with a specific plan. Every swing had a purpose. Every drill had a goal. Every detail mattered throughout the morning session.

In these short warm up clips, Matt is working off a high tee, focusing on creating a downward plane into the inside part of the baseball and an upward finish, while maintaining his posture and not collapsing through his back side.

We’re also focused on finishing his swing, getting the most out of his lower half, and maximizing his hip rotation to create efficient, powerful movement through the baseball.

Simple? Yes, in theory!

Easy? Not always.

It’s about understanding the movement, feeling the adjustment, and repeating it until it becomes part of the swing.

No fanfare.
No applause.
No cameras needed.

Just working in silence and getting better.

That’s how professional players work.

Everyone asks whether the transfer portal works.

The better question is whether you land at all.

In the 2025 portal cycle, 6,255 baseball players across all NCAA divisions entered. Fewer than half appeared at another NCAA program the following season.

Some signed pro. Some ran out of eligibility. Some went NAIA or JUCO. But the first question the portal asks is not whether you will play more. It is whether you will play at all.
