ALERT: US Coast Guard jumps onto a runaway boat and safely stops it in Maryland.

Authorities say the man operating the vessel suddenly fell overboard, and the Coast Guard had to intercept and stop the boat.

ALERT: Man suspected of shoplifting from Trader Joe's dies after being chased by police and run over by a car that was not paying attention.

The incident happened as San Francisco police officers were chasing the suspected shoplifter on foot.

While detaining the man, a Lexus SUV drove straight into the situation and hit everyone involved, pinning an officer underneath the car.

The suspect was pronounced dead, and the police officers were transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie said he has spoken to the officers and wishes them a speedy recovery.
