@Kodyeatsglass Aang in the series never really had the opportunity to fully delve into this. He had mastering the elements and saving the world to deal with so he was distracted form the pain. But what happens when the job is finished? When the distraction is gone and peace is here?
@Kodyeatsglass Honestly I felt like folks were gonna think this because I had the same thought. But on rewatch, Aang did NOT completely deal with this and it mirrors how trauma works in real life. Trauma of that extent can reappear and in the real world it can take folks time to ACTUALLY heal
@calebsmxlti But when Tagah uses this power for evil, we see Aang at his angriest, at his most hurt. He finally had a way to bring back airbending but because of Tagah’s corruption and his duty as the Avatar he needs to let go of that dream as he saw it. It’s sad tbh but I loved it. (2/2)
@calebsmxlti Avatar has always been a show rooted deep in the Spirit World. Aang, when faced with his biggest regret in running away when his people needed him, is faced with the opportunity of bringing Airbending back into the world with this Spiritual power. It’s his greatest wound. (1/2)
don't know who needs to hear this, but start living. the days are flying by, and all you do is work, pay bills, and stress. enjoy what you can - walks, sunsets, music, laughter and nature. joy doesn't have to be expensive. you deserve it.
@Meech3366 (2/2) I’m sure he could have bent Fire w/o formal training but maybe it just wasn’t practical or necessary. Esp considering that he had a natural gift with Fire when seen being able to generate it while training w/ Jeong Jeong. TLDR; plot / convenience
@Meech3366 (1/2) He bends Earth in the first ep of season 2 when the general threatens Katara w/o having Earth training. As for Fire, you’re right, he never bends it in the Avatar State prior to formal training; but if Earth was Aang’s natural opposite and he activated it w/o training,
