Hearing Mr Gani Anifowose died trying to protect his students... Said he was trying to close the door when he was shot. I'm not surprised, he's that selfless.
Men are good people. Many wealthy men have married women who had little or nothing, seeing potential rather than financial status. The reverse is far less common.
This a picture of Yoruba women clubbing in Lagos,Yaba in 1967!
With gele and oleku!
So do you know how dumb it is to think you invented tying gele to the club??
And the audacity of you an ibo babe to ask ayra star,a Yoruba babe to give you credit for wearing gele (that thing on ur head isn’t gele btw)!
The Oyo state forest reserve is surprisingly bigger than Lagos.
So all this while, nobody within the intelligence architecture saw what happened with Operation Deep Blue and decided to map out the entire country over time?
🇬🇧 La policía despliega un cañón de agua mientras los manifestantes intentan llegar a un hotel para migrantes en Belfast. Tras los horribles sucesos el pueblo irlandés está cansado.
It's a good start, but I have never hidden my concerns about allowing the police to draft their own reforms.
As you can see, they ended up vesting too much power in the National Police Council.🙆😆🤣
I urge Mr. President, as a matter of urgency, to set up a committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Police Affairs, and civil society groups to draft a better version that reflects a more civilian-oriented approach to policing.
“Tinubu is a drug lord.”
“Tinubu is stealing Lagos money.”
“Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University.”
These are some of the allegations many of you have repeatedly pushed for years in an attempt to discredit and defame Tinubu, yet no lawsuit was filed against you.
Now Kenneth calls Obi a thief, and suddenly everyone is defending Obi’s right to sue for defamation.
If Tinubu were to dot the Is and cross the Ts, many of you will be in court or jail.
The House of Representatives has adjourned its plenary session until July 7, 2026, to mark the end of the legislative year and to review other constitutional amendment proposals, which will be the first item they vote on after their recess.
Statement on My Appointment as New Media and Strategic Communications Director of the NDC.
Thanks be to the God of my Covenant, my help in ages past and my hope for years to come.
I wish to express my sincere and profound gratitude to my leader, boss, and father, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for the confidence reposed in me to lead the digital communications efforts of our great party.
For many years, I have been an ardent supporter of Senator Dickson and the core values he espouses. What particularly endeared him to me is his principled and consistent advocacy for restructuring and the devolution of powers, two ideological positions I firmly believe can fundamentally transform Nigeria’s governance trajectory. Consequently, when he conceived the idea of founding a political party anchored on these ideals, it was a natural and straightforward decision for me to align with him and the NDC.
Those familiar with my public positions know that I have always maintained radical conviction, intellectual independence, and consistent commitment to my beliefs. I do not follow the crowd, nor do I retreat from what I consider right.
I began supporting the NDC from the very moment our National Leader conceived the vision of an ideologically driven political party. I was a foundational member who actively mobilised support and contributed to building the party from its inception, long before it gained national prominence through the influx of other leaders and their supporters.
It is therefore a misrepresentation to suggest that I opportunistically sought an appointment only after the party attained visibility. By the special grace of God, I am not in need of the party for personal financial gain or prominence. As a young man raising a beautiful family while pursuing a career in public service, I have been blessed with stability and fulfilment.
Like most Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation, I believe our country deserves better and that our numerous challenges can be effectively addressed through purposeful, visionary leadership. It is on this conviction that I have offered myself for service, beginning at the foundational level of governance ( the political party) which serves as the platform for grooming and presenting leaders for public office.
Drawing from my years of experience in civil society and media, where I have managed communications for various brands, institutions, and personalities, I am committed to leveraging my expertise to position the NDC as a credible, viable alternative for Nigerians seeking genuine change.
I acknowledge the mixed reactions that greeted my appointment. However, I assure all genuine supporters of the NDC that I have the best interests of the party and its candidates at heart.
I will channel the same passion and energy that has sparked debate into promoting our candidates, combating misinformation, setting the national agenda, and advancing the ideals of the party and its National Leader.
At this critical juncture in our nation’s history, we share a common goal. We must therefore rise above trivial distractions and minor differences to remain focused on our collective vision for a better Nigeria.
Finally, I extend heartfelt appreciation to Nigerians for their overwhelming support, kind wishes and prayers. I never knew I was loved this much. To those who, despite our differences in affiliation, defended me fiercely and passionately, I will never forget your solidarity.
NDC is my party.
Sen. Seriake Dickson is my National Leader and with His Excellency Peter Obi and HE Rabiu Kwankwaso as our party’s presidential nominees, we are fully committed to ensuring their victory in 2027.
Information is power. We will deploy it strategically and tactfully to deliver our message to the electorate. This battle is not won through empty rhetoric but through deliberate strategy, discipline, and tact.
Constitutional ammendents 7, 8 and 9.
State Police.
Military budget as first line charge with Financial Autonomy.
And finally the LG will be recognised as a distinct and separate tier of government by the constitution. Brazil did in 1988 but I am afraid that this may finally seal the fate of States clamouring for the power to create LGs.
These are issues we should have sorted out between 1999 and 2023.
Well done to the APC-led 10th National Assembly.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, announced that constitutional amendments to establish state police garnered support as follows: 289 votes in favor, 1 against, 0 abstentions, with a total of 290 votes cast.
