Today, the Chief Justice, H.E. Baashe Yusuf Ahmed, accompanied by the Attorney General, H.E. Suleiman Mohamed Mohamud, officially announced the results of the National Bar Examination at the Chief Justice’s Office.
The examination is part of broader efforts to strengthen Somalia’s justice system and ensure that future lawyers possess the knowledge, skills, and professional standards needed to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of Somali citizens.

Today, I chaired a meeting with justice sector leaders — the Minister of Justice, Attorney General, Police, and Prison Services. Our discussions focused on detainee rights, faster trials, and stronger prison oversight.
I had the pleasure of participating in Day Two of the East Africa Development Forum 2025 as a panelist in the session titled 'Reclaiming Legitimacy'. The discussion focused on the importance of civic trust, justice, and strong institutions in shaping Somalia’s future.
I presided over the 4th annual meeting of the Somali Judicial Training Institute. The Director outlined last year’s achievements, including a new strategy, training programs, and international partnerships. I encouraged continued efforts to strengthen Somalia’s judiciary.
This year’s theme, "Modernizing and Strengthening Justice," underscores our ongoing efforts to build a judiciary that is transparent, accountable, and effective—one that serves all Somalis with fairness and integrity.
