So here's the cotton yarn prices update.. up 1% to 2% in November.. ditto in December and 4% to 5% in January 2021 which is 11% to 17% higher as compared to August 2020 prices.. Mamma Mia!!!

Cotton yarn prices increased by 3% in September and now increased by 2 to 5% this month adds up to an increase of 5 to 8%.. going by the theory that supply and demand determine the price, demand exceeds supply.. But could someone please tell me where the demand is from.

This could make cotton expensive but, a) will the pandemic lower the demand to even out the drop in supply? b) can cotton be traced back to it's point of origin? c) how will China retaliate? .. many more questions come to mind from this interesting read.
