We're excited to host Dr. Guy Standing, co-founder of the Basic Income Earth Network and a leading voice for the commons and the precariat.
Standing's work has influenced advocates, policymakers, and economists the world over to recognize the mass plunder of our natural, social, civil, cultural, and knowledge commons. We live in a runaway rentier economy where owning property makes more money than hard work; where more and more income goes to those who own assets, and less and less to those who perform labour.
One answer, Standing believes, is to establish a system of Common Capital Funds, financed by charging levies on the commons, to pay common dividends to all citizens.
If you support basic income, housing, and fair and equal economic opportunity, this virtual event is for you.
