The Bellini was invented in the 1930's at a small bar in Venice, and the name was inspired by 15th century Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini.

My heritage is 100 pct Italian on both sides.

When I was a kid and my father who was born in italy - watched any sport that matched an Italian against an American, and I asked him who he was rooting for, here was his answer:

"Who the fu** do you think I'm supporting. I am an American!!!"

ON THIS FLAG DAY ...

BASILICO'S CELEBRATES  ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC BATTLE STORIES OF THE AMERICAN FLAG!

In 1814,  the British Royal Navy  unleashed 25 hours of constant and massive   bombardment  on Fort McHenry in Baltimore Maryland.  

American Francis Scott Key who was  held captive on a nearby British ship  was forced to watch the attack on his country, while a massive 30 x 42 Garrison flag flew above it all.

The next day he assumed the fort's destruction was inevitable, but instead when dawn broke, he looked through his spyglass and saw the Americans raise the giant American flag again,  this time tattered and torn from shelling, shrapnel and harsh weather,  but still flying proudly and signaling victory.

The large flag was chosen so the British would have no difficulty in seeing its survival through the smoke.  It represented strength, resilience and courage! The sight inspired Francis Key  to write the poem that became our national anthem. 

After fighting our Anti-American woke enemies since 2020,  in  memory of great battles like the one at Fort McHenry and in honor of the great American heroes who have fought them and inspired us, we raised our own up the 40 ft. 'Basilico's Flag Pole'.

So when you see it in front of our restaurant, we hope that you will remember and honor them too.

WORLD CUP MEMORY!
Basilicos Pasta e Vino' meets @alexi_lalas 

In 2021, during the anti-American covid lockdowns, especially during the psycho vaccine mandates,  when we were finishing our giant 'Leave the Vax, Take the Cannoli'  wallscape in  enemy territory - Venice Beach to stick it to the woke left, we ran into fellow patriot and World Cup - US Men's National Team  legend  Alexi Lalas when we were walking to our car.  Suddenly a shootout  broke out. 

The wallscape was a sequel to our 2020 48ft. 'Leave the Mask, Take the Cannoli' billboard we installed in Los Angeles in 2020, in defiance of the mask mandates. 

Wait for it, at the end we make sure Alexi sees  our artwork, and like a true American,  he expressed his support!
