Some meetings stay with you. Deeply grateful that a UN diplomat came all the way from Geneva to Timișoara and shared his experiences, perspectives, and encouragement. A privilege to meet him.
Sar e toor ho, sar e hashr ho, humein intezaar qubool hai
Woh kabhi milein, woh kahin milein, woh kabhi sahi, woh kahin sahi
Na ho unpy jo mera bas nahi, k yeh aashiqui hai hawas nahi
Mai unhi ka tha, mai unhi ka hoon, woh meray nahi tou nahi sahi..
- Peer Naseer ud din naseer
Peak moments after moving abroad:
- First night with an empty house
- First grocery store to buy food
- Convert price of everything to your currency
- Write everything on your notes
- Meet someone later become your best memory
- 6 months later in a cold night missing home
The Prophet PBUH said:
“When a person is placed in his grave and his companions depart, he hears the footsteps of those around him. Then two angels, black and blue, come to him, make him sit, and ask:
‘Who is your Lord?’
‘What is your religion?’
‘Who is this man who was sent among you?’”
— (Sahih al-Bukhari 1311, Sahih Muslim 619)
This Hadith reminds us of the reality of life after death. The grave is the first stage of the Hereafter and faith, righteous deeds and adherence to Islam determine one’s peace or trial in the grave.
Let us live with mindfulness, strengthen our Iman and prepare for the questions of Munkar and Nakir with sincerity, prayer and good deeds.
O Allah, I ask you for a good ending, O Allah, make our graves a garden of Paradise and make us a place in Paradise
