It’s swarm season. Picked up a few honey bee swarms this weekend. Swarms appear as big clumps of bees and are the start of a new hive. They are often hanging out looking for a new home. If you see these please do not spray and call a local beekeeper.

First round of lamps in Science & Alternative Energy headed home. Students made these to test the efficiency of different types of lightbulbs.

Students in Alternative Energy spent the last few days learning about basic electricity, circuits, schematics and soldering by creating basic series, parallel and series parallel circuits with LED’s.

Students today worked on learning about caster,camber and toe measurements of vehicle alignment.

Students in Alternative Energy are working on re-designing the landscape of Bacon Academy for energy efficiency. New designs include summer shading, edible landscapes, aesthetics and winter wind breaks.
