@antd Hey. Sorry to just jump on this thread. I just went out and got City On Fire and Among The Braves. I’m going to read both but which ones is best to start with? Eg more history behind everything?
@jonronson Hey. My daughter introduced me to a song called Boogie Woogie Wu and I love it, by the Insane Clown Posse, hang on, I’ve heard of them, a few days later it clicks. However, I’m pretty sure I listened to “Lost at Sea” rather than read it. However I can’t find the episode!
@the_transit_guy @MarLucasEvander Lived in Singapore now for 15 years. The train infrastructure is amazing, the busses are great, still too many cars. But life here is good. My 11 & 13 year olds take public transport to and from school everyday. It’s an expensive place to live. But you get what you pay for.
To make myself feel better about yesterdays election I’m rewatching Ken Burns the Civil War. This just popped up and I actually laughed out loud. @KenBurns
@mehdirhasan Kleptocracy (from Greek κλέπτης kléptēs, "thief", or κλέπτω kléptō, "I steal", and -κρατία -kratía from κράτος krátos, "power, rule"), is a government whose corrupt leaders (kleptocrats) use political power to expropriate the wealth of the people and land they govern.
@alexwickham@PhilAldrick “The plan she delivered will take so long to bear fruit the party will need to win another election to claim its reward.”
After the short-termism of the previous government I’m not sure this is the critique you think it is.
