I spoke on the House Floor to honor the brave airmen whose lives were lost in the crash of a refueling aircraft in Iraq. We will never forget the sacrifices they made for our nation.
Alabama airman and father of 3, Major Alex Klinner, identified as one of the six Americans who was killed when a KC-135 crashed in Iraq.
Klinner was a father to a two-and-a-half-year-old and seven-month-old twins.
His wife, Libby, posted the following on Instagram:
“On March 12, our world shattered. Alex and his crew were on the plane that crashed in Iraq. I'm devastated to lose the best person I know, the person that made everything more fun, my best friend.
But even more so, my heart is broken for our three kids who will grow up not knowing him. They won't get to see firsthand the way he would jump up to help in any way he could.
They won't see how goofy and funny he was. They won't witness his selflessness, the way he thought about everyone else before himself. They won't get to feel the deep love he had for them. He was an incredible person and husband, but he was the best dad.
It still doesn't feel real. I keep thinking that I'll get a text from him saying 'Sorry honey! Didn't mean to scare you' and everything will be alright. Because Alex always made everything alright. We just moved to a new home and we had so many exciting plans in the next few years. Now we are left to navigate the void left in our hearts.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your words mean more than you know.
These are some of the last photos we have together before he deployed. He was crushed that he had to leave us. I'Il forever remember this heartbreaking goodbye.”
I am linking the GoFundMe below that was launched by Klinner’s sister-in-law, Sarah Rose Harrill.
Heartbreaking.

i noticed an older man at the grocery store trying to read the label on a soup can because he had forgotten his glasses. a teenager wearing a hoodie stepped over, opened the magnifier on his phone, and read the ingredients out loud for him. they ended up talking for about ten minutes, swapping ideas about the best chicken noodle recipes. moments like that remind me that kind people are everywhere
😭🥹 First thing I see on TikTok is a girl who moved in with her friend for 6 months just to get her life together. Friend told her rent was $350, she paid $400 anyway.
When it was time to move out… the friend handed her ALL $2,400 BACK 😭 and said she never needed the money, it was just to help her SAVE and go handle her business.
MY GOD 🥹 THIS is what love looks like. THIS is grace. THIS is being human.
🚨 BREAKING: Photos have just been released of the four U.S. soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Epic Fury
So heartbreaking.
➡️Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35 — Winter Haven, FL
➡️ Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42 — Bellevue, NE
➡️ Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39 - White Bear Lake, MN
➡️ Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20 — West Des Moines, IA
Rest in peace to these American heroes 🇺🇸
HEROES: Vigilante moving crew blocks Amber Alert suspect’s car, helps rescue 2-year-old girl
A Camelback Moving crew in Phoenix spotted a 2-year-old girl matching an Amber Alert description inside a suspect’s car at a QuikTrip on Sunday morning.
After confirming with the alert photo, they used their moving trucks to block the vehicle from leaving the parking lot while calling 911.
Police arrived, arrested the suspect (the child’s non-custodial parent), and safely reunited Kehlani Rogers with her family.
Crew member Kevin Place told reporters, “We all have kids… We weren’t going to let him get away.”
Freaking heroes.
Fonzie thought he was an Alabamian. He lived for football & his fiancee and maybe too much fun. I followed him to Mexico when he was deported to a place he did not understand. This is his story. As it is with any deportation, it is not his story alone.

The team behind "The Alabama Solution" created a website that includes more reporting & research, along with a database of all 1377 who died in Alabama prisons during the making of the film. I think of it as the film's receipts. Here's an explainer:

I’ve watched this interview 10 times today. So grateful to hear these words from interim head coach Terry Smith of Penn State. Powerful!!
And a great reminder for all of us that just want to focus on the CFP-and nothing else “matters”. This was a SPECIAL day for this coach and his players-not just winning the Pinstripe Bowl-but having another chance to compete TOGETHER.
His gratitude for his players-his school-and to the SPORT were heard loud and clearly. This interview hit me hard watching it live-even a bigger fan of his now!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts coach-many of us needed to hear them!
