Having watched yesterday's speech from Burnham and today's speech from Starmer...I repeat the question, what the hell have (some of) the PLP done?
I cannot get my head around the fact we're losing this PM who is so deeply respected throughout this really dangerous world.
Andy.
It's not about your competenc or your vision.
It's about HOW you came to power.
It's about the normalisation of cynical below the radar manipulation of the democratic process.
Subverted by your rampant ambition.
Straight out of the Steve Bannon playbook.
And
It is NOT ok.
Mid term and only trailing by 4 pts. Why the hell are the PLP kicking the democratically elected PM out after only 2 years.
The Labour Party has lost its mind. I still can’t believe how stupid it is.
Andy Burnham has not been an MP since May 3, 2017
Suddenly labour expect us to accept Andy Burnham as PM - after his return 11 days ago?
What kind of democracy is this?
The UK is going to miss @Keir_Starmer
The best Prime Minister in a generation.
@andyburnham is the booby prize gifted to us by the UK media, backstabbing MPs and gullible morons.
#Starmer speaking now on the £15 billion extra for defence.
He's the real PM. He spoke about his announcement, told us where the money is coming from & made the case for how he can keep the country safe.
That's leadership. Not a gimmick infused speech about no. 10 in Manchester
Burnham wants 10 years as an unelected PM. Yet he and his cabal would not allow Starmer 2 years as a PM elected by the country.
This feels so wrong. Undemocratic.
I know that I will be hammered for this -but I believe Burnham's behaviour yesterday was tasteless.
*A very public rail journey to London.
*Undignified swearing in.
*Organised photo call with a crowd of Labour MPs.
*His assumed entitlement to be PM
A total lack of self awareness.
Ten years ago today Britain voted by a narrow majority (51.9%) to leave the European Union.
Most Brits living in other EU countries couldn’t vote.
The Leave campaign featured a pack of lies and promises that did not materialise.
Today, a growing majority want to the EU again
Andrew Neil lives in a mansion in France that he moved to using EU rules where he doesn't pay any tax in the UK.
And he spends his time moaning about the EU he chooses to live in and the poor state of the UK, which is due to tax dodgers like him.
This is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail.
He lives in a massive mansion in the English countryside, but he pays no tax here because he identifies as French.
While the Daily Mail is registered in Bermuda and pays no tax anywhere.
That is his ‘Patriotism’.
I am no fan of Andy Burnham and I’m aware Keir Starmer has his doubters.
But he’s done more in two years, than the Tories did in their 14.
And it’s not even close.
Whatever happens with Keir, he can hold his head up high.
No matter what happens next and who the next PM will be, Starmer @Keir_Starmer ahould always be remembered as the Prime Minister who stood up to Trump and told him where to shove his illegal war. Starmer did that, and we should honour and thank him for it
I still find it absolutely mental how a Prime Minister who won 411 seats, hasn’t even done a bad job, is being ousted by a man who wasn’t even an MP and somehow has the backing of everyone? 😂
