Since June 2021, @juliaforboston has been my mentor and close friend. She has inspired many young people (even with the Black Lives Matter Movement) to know that we are not alone. Thank you for shining your light to so many others right now. This past year, the 2026 @CityOfBoston Annual City Budget, has been of extreme debate, due to a lack of resources being drained from many youth programs and veteran services. Clr. Mejia expressed pain and frustration at every single council meeting due to this. Thank you Ms. Mejia for continuing to fight for the undeserved who do not have a voice.
May God bless you,
Ms. Mejia.

“He was one Black with three young White men who happened to end up with his phone, happened to end up with his keys,” the Rev. Al Sharpton said Friday on the death of Nolan Xavier Wells. “There’s just too many questions that they should not be closing the investigation."
Wells, 18, was found dead after spending the Fourth of July celebrating with friends on Mississippi's Horn Island. The family is demanding answers. https://t.co/lqo0qFovcT
In 2026, I cannot believe we are being asked to respond to the suggestion that the descendants of the enslaved should pay for the machinery that oppressed them.
The Caribbean does not owe Britain for slavery, for colonial extraction, or for laws that treated African people as chattel. We are not asking for charity. We are asking for justice, and history itself has already told the truth.
Those who wish to speak on this matter should first take the time to read enough history to understand it. The Caribbean will not be used as a prop for anyone’s politics. We know who we are, we know what was done, and we will continue to speak for repair with clarity and dignity.
Shaq caught wind of this 7-foot-3 kid in Kemah, Texas who powered through the police academy only to fall one point short on the state exam. His whole dream of becoming an officer looked like it was slipping away right there.
Then Shaq jumped in and covered the guy’s living expenses for the next five months so he wouldn’t have to juggle a second job and could zero in on passing that test. Because of that extra push, Jordan Wilmore got back in, nailed it, and just got sworn in as a Kemah police officer.

More than 41,000 people remain missing after a pair of powerful earthquakes reduced buildings to dust on June 24 in Venezuela.
Survivor Jose Garcia shares how he was retrieved from a collapsed building on the coast of La Guaira by his own son.

Somerville City Councilor Matt McLaughlin, made an important statement of why he got into politics from his over 20 year career as a Somerville community leader, he stated that he had a dear friend that was murdered on a 4th of July event due to a bad drug deal. Plus, his continued presence as an Iraq war veteran inspires many young people to know that there is hope no matter what journey of life you are on.

Cambridge Vice Mayor Burhan Azeem analyzed every point possible towards letting the community know that we have to let Democrats take hold and Control of the @USCongress_ seats before it is taken over by Republicans. From New York to California, he let the public know that the fight is not yet over and still we have to control to take everything into account of the systems that have been set up to fail. As an educated engineer by trade, he highlighted the fact that we, Cambridge, has the resources, and have been noticed by many national newspapers and the media, but there are still measures as a community that we still have left to do.

Mass State Rep, @rep_erika Uyterhoeven give an intelligent and hard fought debate tonight in Medford for Pat Jehlen’s Senate Seat. Fighting for accountability, letting prison inmates receive fair treatment, letting government systems hold @ICEgov accountable, and fighting against takedown of AI monitoring systems towards propaganda that the government might have in motion.
It was wonderful to hear her speak.

On a rainy night, I had the opportunity to attend the Mystic Valley Voters Forum and met Mass State Rep, Christine Barber. She continues to advocate for fair housing for homeless and veterans on the House Floor (especially advocating for the #HomeBaseProgram for veterans and their families)…abortion rights (which she only mentioned during tonight’s debate), fighting for transparency with AI and government control, protection for immigrants and more.
Thank you to everyone who attended tonight’s Mystic Valley Voters Forum at the Medford Public Library.
It was a great opportunity to hear from State Rep. Erika Uyterhoeven, Cambridge Vice Mayor Burhan Azeem, Somerville City Councilor Matthew C. McLaughlin, and State Rep. Christine Barber as they shared their visions for the future.

From @CityofEvanston#Reperations Taskforce Commission to @jamaica and now before King Charles III, (@RoyalFamily), the global conversation on #Reparations for descendants of indigenous slaves all around the world and fighting for justice continues to grow.
I had a conversation this morning following these historic developments and looking forward to updates from Dr. Ruth Sue Simmons on #Evanston’s progress and what these international discussions could mean for the future.

It was an honor to attend and celebrate the 18th Annual Anti-Imperialist Picnic in Cambridge with such a diverse and passionate community.
A sincere thank you to John Harris of the Boston May Day Coalition for helping organize another meaningful event that brought together community members, organizers, activists, and neighbors in the spirit of peace, solidarity, and civic engagement.
I also extend my appreciation to Green Party of Massachusetts, presidential candidate Jill Stein for joining the celebration and taking the time to connect with attendees. It was great to see so many people from different backgrounds coming together to exchange ideas and strengthen community relationships.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, attended, and helped make this year’s gathering a success. Events like these remind us of the importance of community, respectful dialogue, and working together toward a better future.
With appreciation,
