Birder since birth, natural history obsessed, batty about bats. Ex-countryside ranger, current full time mum. Trainer in all things batty. Love music and books.
@BBCiPlayer managed to avoid hearing the #curling results all day, gutted to have the outcomes spoiled when trying to catch up on the iplayer. Very disappointed π
@The_BatNurse@_BCT_ Em and I were telling people of this brilliance a couple of weeks ago while bat bothering in Dorset. Had to come back and look it up to enjoy again- still utter genius πππ
Had a lovely walk at #RSPBArne a couple of days ago. Lots of fab wildlife spotted including marbled white, sika deer, Dartford Warblers & more π¦πππ. Junior Ranger #1 was also inspired to do his take on a @BBCSpringwatch intro - @ChrisGPackham he might be after your job π
Had a wee trip down to Yetholm Loch today hoping to catch up with the drake smew. Not only was he showing nicely, but there was also a redhead smew, woodcock, whooper swans, & a bonus pair of pintails. Nice!

Managed a couple of hours wandering at #Musselburgh yesterday, very pleased to catch up with the King Eider (rubbish phonescope-zoom-crop!) and the Snow Bunting (so confiding I couldn't go wrong!).

Bats are awesome but aren't always the most welcome houseguests. Last year the @NatureScot#BatsInHouses team answered more than 450 enquiries and saved more than 50 roosts from exclusion. Gutted this amazing service is falling victim to the budget cuts axe.

We love bats and their amazing midge-eating abilities! For more info on the bat species in Scotland, their declining numbers and protected status, as well as for advice if they're in your home (for example, roosting in your attic), see https://t.co/7KKrM9Tkit #EndWildlifeCrime

Raptor persecution and illegal use of traps is still going strong no matter what certain organisations might like you to think...
