@susie_dent@hayfestival An after dinner game in our house - reading entries from the dictionary of music to see if others (esp our Dad) knew somthing about them...my sister thinking she would catch him out with the well known composer, 'Lewd PeDAHL'...piano playing never quite same afterwards!
@Mofoman360 I would love Christians to be 'pandered to' a bit, by Christmas stuff being put back a bit nearer Christmas. We'd quite like a bit of Advent.
@ZBauermaster One of the best couple of minutes of my teaching career, when I met an ex-pupil, asked what she was doing...to hear...'training to be a teacher, because of you.'
@SammyObeid We had people we referred to as 'plastic aunts' - which just meant they weren't actually Aunts, but friends of our parents. They were some of our favourite 'relatives' and we still see one of them.
@YesterdaysBrit1 I started school in 1970 - Junior school - open plan, vertically streamed classes, much of the work self-directed, chose our own break times...
@FrDidymus@JoshuaPenduck They were a lovely, open and generous set of discussions in our parish - with people coming to a better understanding of things they had never before thought about.
@unherd Science can't prove anything - that's not how it works. It produces theories based on evidence. They can then be supported or disproved...but not proved.
@Miss_Snuffy Churches are not just 'culture', they are living places of worship, wondering and growing in our relationship with Christ. May be, for some people, this temporary display will help. If not, it hasn't harmed anything.
