@LauraPh222 He once said ''I still think the BBC is pretty good and I would defend it to the death, even though I have never worked for it'' (BTW he did host a special episode of Woman's Hour called Man's Hour on BBC Radio 4 back on New Year's Eve 2004)
@back_the_BBC@back_the_BBC The reason why this is happening is because under the new agreement with iPlayer announced in January, there is no need anymore to block out the ad breaks https://t.co/4cQQTwiheS
One of the new BBC channels on youtube that was announced a few months ago, BBC deepwatch has just launched, the catch? It's a rebranding of the youtube channel that used to belong to BBC Three! https://t.co/BD0BjDb3jf
BBC Three's youtube channel went inactive 10 months ago, it's programming is instead getting promoted on the main BBC youtube channel.......i am not going to lie to you all, but i am having a bad feeling about all this
@jonoread Quite surprised i am not going to lie, the BBC just announced that they are to cut 2000 jobs in it's biggest downsize in 15 years, with entire TV channels and Radio stations set to close......and now they are going to launch a new one? I'm very confused right now

The BBC is great, but unless serious consideration is given to how it’s funded then we’re unfortunately going to see this continued death by a thousand cuts.
Really should be a gradual move away from the licence fee into a levy on broadband/mobile internet to fund the Beeb.
