Grandpa found an old article but it shows how strong the city used to be in baseball! Cory Wade played a decade & pitched for the Yankees in the big leagues only made honorable mention. Indy Star did a great job promoting high school sports back then #glorydays
@CoachSloan23@Patriots Seems weird Mike. Mayo played for wild Bill. Coached under wild Bill. So if you fired BB and wanted to take the organization in a different direction, this became a weird hire.
@CoachBWeems Leave it to a coach to recognize the skills of the tosser and not the hitter. 2 to 1 says the hitter didnt thank the tosser for being so good.
@CoachTurnpaugh I know right. I’ve had all three vaccines and now I have hair growing in my ears and I have to wear readers to read. And my hair is losing its color. I’m pissed! Darn vaccines
@Dejan_Kovacevic Back in the 70's pitchers wanted the ball back, get the sign and go. Without the rule we are now forced to watch the batter adjust the chin guard, elbow guard, unstrap and re-strap both gloves, pull up on his junk before every pitch. No thanks!

@CoachBWeems It’s the same amount of baseball - played in less time. This is how it was played from 1871-1980 when it was, for a time, the most popular spectator sport.

@CoachBWeems Anyone who cries ‘purist’ over this, remember that this is the pace at which the game was played for a century and change. This IS pure baseball.
@CoachBWeems Sorry but it was refreshing watching a 2hr 40 min game where 16 runs were scored. Without the speed up it would have been a ridiculous 4 hrs.
Those high school baseball programs that have switched to artificial turf have an enormous advantage over those that don’t. It’s not even quantifiable.

@MattBuczkowski No question. Especially in districts where outside training is unaffordable. Coach Hat told me the turf is worth 12 to 15 on field practices that would not happen without. Thats huge when you consider that at Pike, if it rains hard we lose the field for days. Puts us way behind.
