“Mayor to school board: resign, or be charged”

Hudson, Ohio Mayor Craig Shubert walked into a school board meeting on September 13, 2021, and gave the board a choice: resign, or face criminal charges.

His reason was a college-credit writing class at Hudson High School that used 642 Things to Write About. Students were prompted to write a sex scene they would not show their mom, rewrite it so a parent could read it, invent an X-rated Disney scenario, and drink a beer and describe the taste. The course required a parent waiver. Parents called it grooming. Shubert called it essentially child pornography and said a judge had confirmed that.

The Summit County prosecutor later said the prompts were not child pornography and did not charge him.

She called his remarks reckless and said they helped unleash threats against the board. The prompts were still in a high-school classroom. Parents had to sign a waiver so their kids could be asked to write sex scenes. That is the scandal. The mayor said it out loud.

In February of 2025 Rachel Maddow falsely reported that Trump had given Elon Musk a $400 million contract for armored Teslas.

Iran's opposition is no longer defined only by street protests.

Armed resistance is becoming increasingly visible on the regime's periphery.

Kurdish armed activity has intensified in the west. Baloch fighters are repeatedly engaging security forces in the southeast. Now senior IRGC commanders are being killed inside Iran.

On September 23, Brig. Gen. Hossein Zarifi, commander of the IRGC's Sajjad Operational Base, and intelligence commander Ahmad Zeraati were killed during fighting in Saravan.

This does NOT yet amount to a nationwide insurgency.

But the trajectory matters.

For years, Tehran projected armed power beyond its borders.

Now the IRGC is increasingly being forced to fight armed opponents at home.

Decode Conflict Assessment: Iran may be entering a new phase in which political dissent, economic pressure and localized armed resistance increasingly overlap. If these separate fronts begin coordinating geographically or operationally, Tehran's internal-security problem becomes significantly more difficult to contain.
