@mkoeris Agree. One practical example is histidine pH-dependency for electrostatic protein-to-protein interactions. Abysmal structural biology change from pH 7.4 to 5.5 (normality vs cancer microenvironments) switching electrostatic dynamics function.

ChemRxiv preprint (v7): pH-gated two-channel histidine peptide (5H-EAF). Channel E = electrostatic occupancy at pH 5.5; Channel C = soft-metal coordination at pH 7.4. Computational study (DFT, MD, NetworkX). Not peer reviewed yet. Feedback is appreciated.
