Armed cops swarmed a quiet Spennymoor street after a man in his 40s waved a massive knife at residents, shouting "Allahu Akbar" whilst allegedly approaching women and kids in the street. 😡

Yesterday afternoon on Lotherton Drive, armed officers cordoned the whole road off for a 30 minute standoff. He was eventually arrested for possession of a "bladed article" (even though he had one in each hand) and is still custody.

This has been quietly buried, I can't find it reported anywhere except below and the pictures I've added from facebook. I know people who live here, one is two streets down.

They're terrified.
