This morning, our trainee teachers observed our expert teachers teaching phonics at Breck Primary School in Poulton. They then went back to the same class later in the afternoon to teach phonics themselves. We are super proud of them as they all did a fantastic job!
At the end of a busy first term, some of our trainees got together to celebrate their hard work. They have formed some great friendships and really look out for each other which is wonderful to see.

This week our trainees were back at Breck Primary School for Geography training and took part in fieldwork. Observing, measuring and recording with different types of maps is a key part of the Geography curriculum.
As teachers, we encourage our children to read and to enjoy reading as we know it makes a huge difference. We love to share our favourite stories with children to inspire them and get them hooked on books!
This week we looked at the teaching of phonics and guided reading. Our highly experienced and knowledgeable Phonics Lead, Dina Fielding led the sessions which have helped our trainees to understand how reading is taught across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2.

Congratulations to our 2023-24 trainees on becoming fully qualified teachers. 🎉❤️We celebrated their last day with a buffet lunch before they continued the celebrations into the evening. The BBL team feel incredibly proud to be part of their journey.

Today our trainees were in Altrincham to join the other trainee teachers from the @BF_SCITT network for a larger training session. A huge thank you to Joanne at @network_primary for delivering such a great session and bringing languages to life!
At the BBL we support our trainees with job applications. We offer advice and hold letter writing and interview technique workshops. Ben had one of his placements at Thornton Primary and is currently working full time in a teaching role at Unity Academy.
