Culturally-supportive homes are on the way in Victoria.
Construction has started on 34 new homes for First Nations, Inuit and Métis people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Elders, Knowledge Keepers and people with lived experience will help guide the supports and programs offered in the building.
The new homes are expected to open in early 2028.
Seniors now have access to 12 affordable rental homes in Granisle.
Copperview Seniors Housing will allow residents to remain close to key services and support networks.

Rents are going down in BC. Asking rents are down 12.5% since 2023, about $333 per month on average.
BC is seeing the largest rent declines in Canada as more homes are being added across the province.
