@preetssx In school there was a lot of pressure to go to Uni but I liked the idea of an apprenticeship better. You get paid to have on the job training and a qualification at the end. Apprenticeships also go up to degree level so there opportunity for me to progress. Amy#apprenticeopenday
@charlottesteggz I used the government website to find vacancies in my area
and applied for ones that appealed to me. https://t.co/mzOCtDeZxc
#ApprenticeOpenDay
@charlottesteggz No, I had no idea. I just knew that University wasn't for me but I still wanted to study and learn. An apprenticeship was the perfect option to get on the job experience and a qualification at the same time. #ApprenticeOpenDay
@charlottesteggz Yes, I took Business throughout school and college and knew from then I wanted to pursue marketing. I applied for 5 apprenticeships a day, to gain more interview experience and to see what other companies could offer me. Jaya #ApprenticeOpenDay
@preetssx I decided to take an apprenticeship because I’m not an exam person I find I learn better when working and learning at the same time so when you make mistakes you can learn from them. Jaya #apprenticeopenday#askanapprentice

@magicturkey I'm a Business Admin Apprentice in the Mayor's Office. I haven't seen Inception. Being an apprentice differs to a junior role as you are able to learn on the job and get a qualification at the end it. It gives you a better chance of career progression! Amy #apprenticeopenday
@magicturkey Yes, I'm an apprentice in the marketing and communications department within the BCC, no I haven't seen Inception. As an apprentice you get to learn on the job in a work environment and attend college for 1 day and learn about the course you choose. Jaya #apprenticeopenday
@crouchL I do have to attend college once a week on a Tuesday, the day varies depending on what course and level you are taking. I'm currently doing a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship and retaking math's and ICT as well. #apprenticeopenday
@crouchL A typical day in the office is a positive, friendly and diverse environment, I have regular catch up meetings with my managers, team catch up meetings within the marketing and communications department and I also get to be involved in a wide range of projects and campaigns. Jaya
