RootEd had the privilege of attending The Bexar County Education Coalition’s State of Public Education in Bexar County luncheon. We left totally inspired. As SAISD Superintendent Dr. Aquino said, “Public Education doesn’t just educate, it saves lives.”
A huge shout out to @BCECTX for their State of Education luncheon today!! Partnership with local industry and chambers of commerce is paramount for public education. It takes all of us!! #TxEd#TxLege
A special thanks to Julia Grizzard @BCECTX and the San Antonio Area Chambers of Commerce for facilitating The State of Public Education in Bexar County. Your efforts are making a significant impact in our local ISD’s and communities. @FSHISD
We couldn’t agree more @nancypjohnson. Vouchers writes a check the state cannot cash. ICYMI-
Preyor-Johnson: Vouchers will erode public schools, especially in rural Texas

Can Kinder and 1st graders learn to code? 💯! There is a confidence gap not a skills gap in STEM so elementary programs are crucial to our future workforce strength. Play can become learning.⬇️ #RootEdBeard
Proud of my state representative @stevefortx, my former state representative & boss @SpeakerStraus, and @BCECTX for hosting a candid conversation about the state of public education. Can’t wait to #vote for Steve, a true conservative. Early voting starts Feb 20. #txlege#txed
So thankful for @stevefortx and his work for public education. Thank you for sending the evening with our coalition tonight and having a robust conversation with @SpeakerStraus#txlege#txed

🍎HB 2 / HJR 1 adds considerable funding for school safety measures.
🍎SB 2 provides pay raises for teachers and increases the #txed Basic Allotment by $75.
#txlege should advance these bills to at least have the discussions. Our kids and staff deserve it.
A public service announcement. In Texas a lot of politicians tweeting about 88% of voters backing school vouchers.
What are they talking about?
In 2022 on GOP primary ballots ONLY, there was a ballot question asking if parents should have the right to select schools
We won!!! 84-63 is a wonderful, bi-partisan statement that vouchers are not what parents want!! Now could we please get some funding passed!! #txlege#txed
