This morning L (Néry) Bty RHA paraded in France to mark Armistice Day before being impeccably hosted for a six-hour lunch by the Mayor of Néry.

We are extremely grateful for the generosity and warmth shown to us by our French comrades.

Sgt Nelson was one of three L Bty VC recipients following the ‘Affair at Néry’.

After reaching the rank of Major, Nelson was subsequently killed in action and laid to rest in Lillers, France. Today the Bty visited his grave en route to Néry.

We were also privileged to receive tours of the @HCav1660 & the @HAC_TheCompany who both kindly hosted us.

conditions, L (Néry) Bty climbed the highest peak in England whilst testing the resilience, agility, robustness and self-reliance of its personnel.
