Brevin Timm posted another Beacon #2 All-Time in the pentathlon (2nd only to Bryan Ortquist’s 2003 State Champion total). Brevin’s score ranks him NYS#8 and is currently the top Class B score in NYS
Other Beacon highlights from yesterday’s State Qualifier: Chloe Goessl wrapped up her HS career by winning her heat of the 1500 and running a Beacon #2 All-Time 5:03 for the 1500 meters
Two more NYS Qualifiers for Beacon! Noah Spiak in the 110 hurdles on the strength of his 15.05 qualifying time and Brevin Timm (below) in the Pentathlon.
Brevin cleared 6’ 1” in the high jump for a new personal best on the way to a point total of nearly 3300!
Excellent morning for Beacon Track + Field as we get to celebrate Mika and Tye at the Orange County Scholar-Athlete Breakfast at Otterkill. Shoutout to Keynote Speaker Greg Large (Warwick 1985) for an exceptional message!
State Qualifier Day 1 is in the books. Jayden Mihalchik pulled out a big 150 foot throw on his final toss to win (and qualify for states!) in discus. He joins Jaiden Rivera who qualified in Triple Jump on the strength of his 45’ 7” last week at Sectionals!
Beacon Track pleased to be sending this crop of seniors off to college next fall! Left to right that is:
Chloe Goessl - Stonybrook
Jayden Mihalchik - Kansas
Kira Sheehan - Manhattanville
Noah Spiak - Manhatttan
Mika Sanchez - Ithaca
Diego Dickinson - City College
Top relay of the day was the 4x800 who finished 2nd to Wallkill with a very solid time of 8:20. (Tripaldi, Signorelli, Dickston, and Clay). We might have to revisit that exact relay at State Quals 🤔
Not just another cool pic from team photographer Aron Li, but this is actually the first stride of sophomore Kiann Allen enroute to a 52.8 second 400 meters
Jaiden Rivera popped a huge 45’ 7 1/4” Triple Jump to lead a 1-2 Beacon sweep along with his teammate Jaden Jones 44’ 2 1/2”. That jump secures the at-large standard for Class B States.
Noah Spiak ran a huge 15.05 PR in the 110 hurdles to grab 2nd place and grab the at-large standard for the State Championships. (He also tacked on a 3rd place finish in the 400 hurdles)
Beacon Boys team finished a solid 4th of 14 teams yesterday at Sectionals. (Girls team finished 10th). Congratulations to Cornwall for pulling out the victory in a great 3 team battle!
Some great performances from Beacon at yesterday’s Mountie Madness Invite including Tripaldi (4:26 1600m), Signorelli (2:02 800m), Timm (21’ 7” LJ), and Jaiden Rivers’s first 44 foot Triple Jump! 😀
