Instructure, the company behind the widely used learning management system Canvas, has reportedly paid a ransom to cybercriminals following a major security breach affecting thousands of schools worldwide.

According to their latest statement, the company reached an agreement with hackers responsible for repeatedly targeting its systems in recent weeks, in an attempt to prevent the release of stolen student and institutional data.
